When the SMRT introduced ezlink card a few years back. It was to make things more convenient for its commuters. As every singapore will know, ezlink works in the way where you scan ur card against the scanner before the gate opens for you. Its reduce the time taken for people to get pass the gate but one thing that have been boring me is how lazy people have gotten even AFTER how convenient SMRT had made our lives with the introduction of ezlink card.
I have seen incidents where young and old alike refuse to take out their card to scan and instead put their bags, pouches etc over the scanner to try to scan the card thats inside their respective bags and pouches. Seriously, how difficult is it to take out ur ezlink card from ur bag or pouches? Its not like ur bag for 101 compartments and each compartments are inside each compartments. I still remember a scene when it was peak hr. Everyone was trying to get home asap, in a queue to get out of the train station. Then there was this particular queue which refuse to move somehow. As i approach the gate. I saw this auntie repeatedly putting her bag over the scanner. Scanning it left, then right. Adjusting the height of the bag, moving it up and down. She did everything except taking out her god damn ezlink card. Somehow, the long queue doesnt really affect her at all.
In the end, who will know if ezlink card manage to do what its created for?
