I cant explain this sudden urge/desire to buy this DVD which i came across in one of the cd shops. I went in with her after walking the whole JP for a cheaper one and hoping that i could find its VCD version which will be much cheaper. I walked in and came out with a DVD and a wallet with 24dollars lesser. Whats that DVD u must be wondering. Everyone i came across that heard i bought this dvd says i am crazy, even my dad laughed with he saw me passing it to him. That DVD which cost me 24dollars was the movie by jack neo. Ah Long pte ltd.
Yup, i can heard alot of wah kao, he siao ah. I kind of think i am crazy too when i walked out the shop with the DVD in hand. haha. Actually i had my reasons. 1st i couldnt find it online for me to dl/stream, well cos its a Singapore movie. 2nd there is only the DVD version thus i only had that option (they really know how to suck our money). 3rd Any other movie could be downloaded except that.
Actually the movie isnt really that bad. Other than the lack of a meaningful story plot and the lack of stars in the movie(unless u consider mark lee as one). The movie sort of fulfilled its purpose, which is entertaining thru super lame jokes and occasionally taking a swipe at the singapore government and singapore's lifestyle. The movie is in both chinese and dialet and thru out the movie you can hear vulgarities both in chinese and dialet and there are several scenes with sex reference so much so that i was surprise that its PG and not NC16. However i must say, both mark lee and fann wong acted very well in the movie. A sissy and a gangleader. I think both mark and fann handle the roles very well.
Well actually the best part of it all was that i watched the movie not with popcorn but surprise surprise.... DURIANS! yes.. i actually watched the movie with me stuffing myself with durians. haha. I shall try out watching a movie with mangosteen next time. And of course her company. =D
